What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are different from laser peels in that the aesthetician uses mixtures of alphahydroxy, trichloroacetic, and phenol acids to remove layers of the skin. Results from chemical peels are: reduction of wrinkles, equalizing of skin pigment, reduction of facial scarring.

A MicroLaser Peel uses a laser to remove 10-30 microns of skin. It does not use any chemicals. Depending on the depth of the peel, skin will initially feel sunburned, then patients will experience some dryness and peeling before they see the final results.
