We have instituted a prescription refill policy that will minimize some of the hassles associated with taking medications long term.

1. Bring all of your medications to your appointment with Dr. Sharp. He will write a new prescription for each one with enough refills to last until time for your next visit, usually six to twelve months later. All of your medications will now be on the same refill schedule.

2. Check your medication before you leave the pharmacy. Make sure all the information on the bottle is correct, including your name, dosages, and number of refills remaining. Even pharmacists will occasionally make mistakes.

3. When you have no remaining refills, call the clinic and make an appointment. Dr. Sharp does not refill prescriptions over the phone.

4. Due to the increasing concern about antibiotic-resistant bacteria, Dr. Sharp will not prescribe antibiotics over the phone.

Avoid medication errors

Before you leave the pharmacy, check each prescription carefully. Do you have the right medication for the right person? Does the label on the new bottle list the correct number of refills? Do you understand when and how often to take the medication? Be sure to ask the pharmacist if you have questions.

Tired of taking medication for acne?

Try Omnilux light therapy, a revolutionary, chemical-free treatment for acne. The Omnilux blue light kills the bacteria that causes acne—without medication or downtime. Or try a MicroLaserPeel. Many patients report a visible decrease in pimples and blackheads after this procedure.
